Graptophyllum pictum variegata...These are really awesome and very rarely offered! (I haven't personally seen these available in the UK) Native to New Guinea these can grow pretty tall up to 3.5 metres or more. The Genus name comes from the Greek words graptos meaning painted or marked with letters or to write and phyllon meaning a leaf from the variegated markings on the leaves. To me, they feel and look like a variegated fiddler fig. Limited numbers!
Care: Graptophyllum pictum prefers increased humidity he will need regular misting However, he can also adapt to the dry air of your home but do expect some leaf browning. Loads of bright light, you can place him near a southern window, but watch up for that hot sun as it could burn him! (In low light, the colour of the leaves dims) Keep the soil moist at all time but not soggy I would water from the bottom letting him drink what he needs.
Size: Pot Diameter 17cm - Total height is approximately 65-75cm
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans, so keep out of reach from little and furry legs!
Difficulty: Medium to hard, depending on your environment
Feeding: General, the majority of houseplants should be fed every 2nd watering during the growing season (Spring and Summer), for me, it's about which every 14 days. In autumn and winter, I feed less, as indoor plants will require fewer nutrients.
