Hydnophytum Papuanum...New to The Ginger Jungle the "Ant Plant" is an another entertaining and unusual epiphyte. They are native to southeast Asia and belong to the family Rubiaceae. This Ant plant has a smooth-skinned swollen base that is riddled with caverns and tunnels that the ants use for their home...Ahhh! Despite them looking tricky these are easy to care for.
Care: Hydnophytum Papuanum I would avoid direct hot sun other than that these seem to work well in most light types. I would provide him with a nice level of humidity, so you could mist him every other day, place on a moist pebble tray keeping the soil moist water about once a week, less in the winter months.
Size: Pot Diameter 7cm - Total height is approximately 15cm
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans, so keep out of reach from little and furry legs!
Difficulty: Easy - More easy indoor plants
Feeding: General, the majority of houseplants should be fed every 2nd watering during the growing season (Spring and Summer), for me, it's about which every 14 days. In autumn and winter, I feed less, as indoor plants will require fewer nutrients.
