Persian shield - Strobilanthes dyerianus...Firstly these are massive secondly I can't tell you how long I have been waiting to get these probably about 3 years! Unfortenlthy I was only able to get a few so limited stock! These are not that commonly available in the UK especially of this size!
Care: The Persian shield prefers bright light, this will helps keep his colour nice a strong so placed just near a window will be perfect. Likes to be warm, direct hot sun may burn his leaves. The soil needs to stay moist water well once a week depending on your household conditions. You can mist these once a day they tend to like it humid. Be aware their fuzzy stems will prefer good airflow. (too much misting without good airflow will cause mouldy stems)
Size: Pot Diameter 15cm - Total height is approximately 43-53cm
Toxicity: Generally speaking, members of the Acanthaceae family are non-toxic. Evidence suggests that the sap of Persian Shield may be irritating to the skin.
Difficulty: Fussy - You will have to get to know each other!
Feeding: General, the majority of houseplants should be fed every 2nd watering during the growing season (Spring and Summer), for me, it's about which every 14 days. In autumn and winter, I feed less, as indoor plants will require fewer nutrients.
